Since we last wrote to you all we are delighted to announce that Brian
Dash is continuing to work with the Trust on a part-time
basis. We thank God that Brian is able to continue with this work. We
value his experience and his dedication to serving our Lord in this
way.
In April we welcomed Christian Jones as our new Treasurer,
replacing Jose Wright who retired due to ill health. We shall miss
Jose, but already Chris has been such a blessing to the Trust, and we
thank him for compiling the Accounts for us this year.
Anthony Narain, our new Schools Worker, is involved with
the Christian Unions in both Netherstowe and King Edwards. He has also taken
lessons in Netherstowe School on the subject of ‘Being a Christian’.
As he makes himself known in the Schools, we ask you to keep him in your prayers.
Pam Rowley continues to take PHSE lessons in both King Edwards
and NetherStowe. Pam was again involved with Log2God along with Anthony. Pam’s
expertise on such delicate subjects as ‘abortion’ and ‘relationships’ are
greatly valued in the High Schools. David Badcock has recently
retired from the Trust. David was a Trustee and Committee member and
we would like to record our thanks to him for all his help and advice over
the years. Thankfully we still have Anne, his wife,
on the Committee. Anne heads up the Shepherd’s Crook Puppet Team. The
puppeteers held a workshop at the URC synod in Birmingham in March, and that
was well received. It is hoped that the puppets will be ready to return
to the schools in November with a new play. Anne led a successful Easter
Schools week at Wade Street Church, and among those involved were Brian,
Anthony and Judith. It was aimed at Primary School children. Plans
are already underway for a Christmas Schools week.
The Trust had a stall at the Whittington Fete in June, and also took part
in morning service at St. Giles, Whittington the next day. We have also
been asked to take part in morning service at Emmanuel Christian Centre
on 31.10.10.
A Thanksgiving Service and Dedication service was held at Wade Street
Church on 25.09.10. Scotch Orchard Primary School choir also joined
us, and they sang beautifully.
Clair Kirk, our Chair, continues to advise and encourage
all members of the Trust. We thank her for her hard work over this past year. We
also thank all the Committee who faithfully attend the meetings and contribute
towards this work.
The Prayer team continue to meet fortnightly to pray for the needs of
the Trust and all the schools in Lichfield and surrounding villages.
Our thanks must also go to all our supporters who have supported us prayerfully
and financially over the past year.
Special thanks to Richard Newton for auditing our accounts
again this year.
Thank you all so much for enabling the Trust to continue to bring the
Good News alive in our schools in Lichfield and surrounding villages. God
bless you all.
Note for Diary: AGM Wednesday
2nd February, 7.45p.m. Holy Cross Church
Hall, Chapel Lane, Lichfield. We
would love to see you there and give you further updates of how our Lord has
used the Team over the past year. God bless you all.
